more about Duolingo

I really really like Duolingo.  I like the encouragement (encouraging sounds) and the flexibility in answers.  I like the features like you can discuss a particular sentence with other users.  I like its aesthetics.  I like the sentences.

I could use more help with the verbs.  I need to study them.  My bestie bought me a verb book.  I should read it!

Duolingo and Memrise

I joined both Duolingo and Memrise yesterday.  I like them both!  They seem superior to other language learning sites I've used.  I think they're sophisticated.

verb trouble

The mindsnack game has me on verbs, and they're hard for me.  I'm not sure how to get them in my head, so I'm stuck.

I asked my best friend how she memorizes verbs.  Seems different from learning nouns, to me.

She gave me lots of ideas.  She told me a book.  I'm going to look for it this afternoon.

Transparent Language and Mindsnack

Well, a long time has passed.  I took a break and am working on Spanish again.

My library has a free Spanish course.  (They have lots of languages, but Spanish is my choice.)  It's called Transparent Language.  I am on Unit 3: I Need Help! Lesson 11.  Last unit I failed my assessment because I translated things into the way I think rather than the exact wording they used.  It's a computer, grading you--doesn't know synonyms, etc.

So I took the assessment again, crankily, and passed just fine.

Also I have this Spanish learning app for my phone made by Mindsnack and it was five dollars.  The games are really fun!  I like Bloon best.  I am at level 18 and have learned a lot.  Don't know how well it will stick, but I'm trying.
